Work sample: My last birthday

Relevant part of the achievement standardBy the end of Foundation Year students identify experiences or events that are personally significant to them.
Students ask questions to find out about their own past using at least one type of historical source. They
identify similarities and differences between families using sources and important family events.
Students relate a story about their past using different forms of communication (oral, graphic, role play).
Summary of taskThis task comprised two parts:
1.Students were asked to identify ONE event of personal significance to them with their parents or
caregivers and write down four things they could remember about it (parents to scribe).
2.Students were required to recall three special things about the event.
Student attainment of the achievement standard is determined at the end of a reporting period after
reviewing relevant assessment evidence.
